A little tired of the RNC inanity...Go on the offensive...

Someone give Chairman Michael Steele a clue.

How difficult would it be for Steele to coordinate a series of nationwide press conferences all scheduled for the same time that included all Republican congressmen, Republican Governors, and invited local Republican State congressmen to make the simple statement that:

1. The Bail Out bonanza was a Democrat throttled legislation that solves nothing...and will increase taxes significantly (or a similar message that your standard third grader can understand)?

2. Point out as taxes increase, it was the Republicans (for the most part) that did not agree with the bail out (the public will be reminded each and every time a new fee evolves or their tax rates increase).

3. Disallow participation by Arlen Specter, Olympia Snow...and the other fence jumpers...instead have likely Republican challengers to their seats do a press conference.

4. Line up localized bloggers from each region to post a video of the press conference in the event that the media tries to ignore or bury it.

5. Prior to setting this up, put together a strategic plan on how the current economic mess should be handled from this point forward...

Finally...and most importantly...

6. DARE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO CHALLENGE ANY AND ALL OF THESE STATEMENTS!

So far, the media has been running interference on behalf of the current administration...and Barney Frank, Chris Dodd etc. At the very least, it will require a response and open a dialogue. Right now, the Democrats look pretty weak due to a non-performing market, and the latest idiocy with AIG. And, each time a new tax pops up, the public will make the association to the bail out nonsense if you explain it in simple enough terms.

I'm guessing not...

BAGHDAD — Here's a bailout idea for the American auto industry: Send all those unwanted SUVs to Iraq.

Just as General Motors is halting production of the Hummer, and other sport-utility vehicles fall out of favor with cost-conscious and eco-friendly Americans, the gas-guzzling behemoths are experiencing a rebirth among young and wealthy Iraqis.
Dandy!...but I don't think the US Automaker's biggest contender in that arena will be happy...or undersold. Competition doesn't come from Japan, Korea, or any other organized car manufacturer. It comes from the "mob." It comes from sophisticated criminal enterprises that steal vehicles from Canada near port cities and ship them overseas to West Africa. Eventually, they end up all over the globe, but one of the major destinations of these jacked vehicles is, indeed, the Middle East.

If you live in Winnipeg and own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, you have a 1 in 8 chance of having it stolen.

Organized crime groups are believed to be more active in thefts there, thanks in part to readily accessible ports. Recovery rates are consequently lower. "Many of the luxury vehicles stolen each year by organized crime groups are destined for export," CISC said in a report. "The vehicles are largely destined for eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East, South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Southeast Asia." In other words, pretty much everywhere.
I'm guessing that Mohammad's Auto Bazaar has better prices.

She lowers the IQ of each room she enters...

Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio endorsed the strategy in a fiery speech on the House floor during debate on the federal bank bailout last month.

"Don't leave your home," she said. "Because you know what? When those companies say they have your mortgage, unless you have a lawyer that can put his or her finger on that mortgage, you don't have that mortgage, and you are going to find they can't find the paper up there on Wall Street."
Brilliant!!! Who ties Marcy's shoes each morning is what I want to know.

In summary, Representative Kaptur believes that those who default on their mortgage (most of whom had no business getting a mortgage in the first place) should just ignore their contractual obligations agreed to by both the lender and the borrower upon settlement. As the banks will point out, most mortgages are available electronically. It's just a clown car load of liberal judges out there refusing to recognize the inevitable.

Oh...and, Marcy...(whispering) there isn't a warehouse full of mortgages on Wall Street...just a Stock Exchange, the Trump Building, Tiffany's and a few apartment buildings.

Ice cubes in your hot tea...

Revised U.S. bank bailout plan gets lukewarm reception

WASHINGTON: For Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, as much as for the troubled government program to bail out the financial system, Tuesday amounted to a do-over.

In his first big test as Treasury secretary, Geithner has one of the toughest sells in America: convincing lawmakers and taxpayers that they should again bail out the very banks whose mistakes contributed to the loss of more than three million jobs and caused acute financial pain around the globe.

Geithner announced a package that was far bigger than anyone had predicted and envisioned a far greater government role in markets and banks than at any time since the 1930s. Administration officials committed the government to flooding the financial system with as much as $2.5 trillion - $350 billion of that coming from the bailout fund and the rest from the Federal Reserve and private investors.

But initial reviews for the man and his plan were not good. Stock markets slid through the day, perhaps pushed downward by withering punditry on the business-news cable channels faulting Geithner for not having provided more details, particularly on stemming home foreclosures. Stocks in Asia followed suit Wednesday.
Lukewarm? Try ice cold... Lukewarm would imply an indifference...or perhaps leaning to acceptance. The markets tanked yesterday. They know this is a (for lack of a better term) crap sandwich filled with impossibilities and pipe dreams...and PORK.

Another thing...blaming the banks for the mortgage failure is dishonest. Sure, they made the sub-prime loans that had no prayer of longevity while accumulating bad debt. However, they did so at the encouragement of the government with their "diversity awards", bullied by litigation filed by special interests, and pushed by race hustling extortionists. Efforts to suggest accountability...and reel it in were met by Democrat resistance (the same group that profited from campaign contributions...Obama had the biggest take).

Dream a little Dream...

WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury Department on Wednesday unveiled new guidelines that impose a $500,000 a year pay cap for executives at firms receiving federal bailout funds.
Hi there...name's Clem. That's my turnip truck over there. Uh...that's a nice fancy new requirement you Washington boys are slapping on that bail out thing.

One question...

"Define Excecutive..."

"What's that...you didn't define the term in your requirements?"

"Oh...I see. So, the obligation to cap executive salaries can be circumvented by renaming job positions and placing your decision makers in hands on staff positions?...Nice..."

"Oh...and one more thing...when you change the requirement to include all employee salaries...would you mind terribly giving some of that bail out dough to Hollywood...I want to see those pissy, elitist know-it-all actors and actresses whine about having a $500,000 salary cap....and then, spread some of that cash to the Yankees organization so they can't buy their team."

"Thanks."
