That's Racist...

Among several hundred people who gathered to celebrate African-American veterans in Roxbury's General Edward O. Gourdin Park yesterday was the grand-nephew of the famed judge, general, and athlete for whom the park is named.
It's interesting that there are no celebrations to honor those veterans with red hair...or veterans with hazel colored eyes. We consistantly and incessantly hear the "drums" demanding equality from those with more melanin in their skin tone. But, we always see segregational type honorarians such as this at the same time.

The "red hair" and the "hazel colored eyes" examples are arbitrary. However, simply put, were someone to set up a celebration of "white veterans," what would be the response? There is your litmus test on just what a celebration such as this represents.

What does she do on a normal day?

Well, I didn't support the inanity called "Earth Hour." However, in Bulgaria, this lady was into it. She supported limiting the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by increasing her contribution of same...unless of course, she usually spins more fire hoops than the ones shown above on a regular basis. (Reuters Photo)

Also, I'm officially calling "SHENANIGANS" on Singapore and the Boston Globe. Let's go to the tape:

The Boston Globe has a collection of photographs from around the world that shows the response to "Earth Hour." It's the usual crap of nudniks holding candles and other nonsense. However, there are a number of skyline landscape photos that are "before and during." It is supposed to show the contrast of the artificial light. Each of these is identical in that the "before" photo rests on the top, and the "during" photo is on the bottom.

The Singapore photos, however are labled like this:

Here, two photos of the Singapore financial district.
(Reuters / Tim Chong)
Uhhhh....yeah...I don't see any difference other than the "during" photo might be a little brighter thanks to artficial illumination.

Singapore, obviously, gets the "SHENANIGANS" call due to claims of massive participation, which is questionable from the Globe's photos. If you visit the link to the News Asia site just above, enjoy their two photographs. It's funny how the lights that are on seem to be...well...filtered.

The Boston Globe gets the "SHENANIGANS" call due to their comments not stating the obvious. In every other "before" and "during" sequence, they note the difference. In the Singapore shots they only note "two photos of the Singapore financial district." Disingenuous at best...

Do as I say...not as I do...

From February 9th, 2007:
LONDON, Feb. 9 -- British billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson, with former vice president Al Gore at his side, offered a $25 million prize Friday to anyone who can come up with a way to blunt global climate change by removing at least a billion tons of carbon dioxide a year from the Earth's atmosphere.
Hey...how about this numbnuts? Suppose you don't fly an empty Boeing 777 from Australia to Los Angeles just to "showcase" your new toy?

From February 5th, 2009
LOS ANGELES, CA - In preparation for the launch of non-stop services between Los Angeles and Sydney on February 27, 2009, V Australia is set to take delivery of its first Boeing 777-300ER (extended range) aircraft and will make a special stop-over at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to showcase the new Boeing aircraft.
Go ahead, Sir Richard...tell me that the trip was merely advertising to drum up interest in the 777 service. If I was a billionaire with toys like yours, I would be flying around annoying past bosses and managers, while lighting my carbon producing cigars with $100's.

From Today's USA Today:
Branson cavorted with cabin crew attendants in bikinis Friday amid fake palm trees before the plane took off in rainy weather for Los Angeles. Other celebrities at the ceremony were Australian actor Julian McMahon of the TV show Nip/Tuck.
Now you're talking...Incidentally, was Al Gore with you? Raining in Australia? That sounds like the "Gore Effect."

Now...where's my $25 Mil?

Rhetoric...pure, poor, and simple...

WASHINGTON: The administration of President Barack Obama plans to move quickly to tighten the country's financial regulatory system.

Officials say they will make wide-ranging changes, including stricter rules for hedge funds, credit rating agencies and mortgage brokers, and greater oversight of the complex financial instruments that contributed to the economic crisis.
For example...let's keep politically ambitious community organizers from applying pressure on the banking industry to hand out sub-prime loans to those who have no business receiving them. While we're at it, let's avoid rewarding those individuals primarily responsible for such idiocy with powerful insider Washington positions in the current presidential administration. You know...just for starters...

Wait...what? You're telling me Obama filed lawsuits on behalf of psuedo "non-partisan" organizations to force feed the sub-prime loans to the banking world? You're telling me he has surrounded himself with cabinet members from the very administration that required this behaviour? Oh...nevermind.
