I shutter for the future of Skittles...

NEW YORK (AP) — End war, forever. Make the planet greener. Please help my dad find work. Make it rain candy!

Thousands of kids detailed their hopes and expectations for President Barack Obama in letters and drawings as part of a worldwide project, with 150 chosen for a free e-book being released on Presidents Day.
It occurs to me that most supporters of the Liberal way (the Hopey Changey way)...are, indeed, ten year olds.

While you can't fault kids for their naïveté, this says an awful lot about the indoctrinization that's taking place in the class room.

Asked for comment, Jessica Alba exclaimed, "OH...YESSSS...MAKE IT RAIN CANDY!!!"

Snow Miser Follies...

When it comes to winter weather, President Obama just joked, “folks in Washington don’t seem to be able to handle things.”

They need, he added, some “flinty Chicago toughness.”

The President, joking with reporters before a meeting he’s having right now with business leaders at the White House, said he was amazed this morning to hear that his daughters’ school (the private Sidwell Friends) is closed today because of icy streets and sidewalks in the nation’s capital.
Okay...all together now...

I'm Mister White Christmas, I'm Mister Snow. I'm Mister Icicle, I'm Mister Ten Below. Friends call me Snow Miser, whatever I touch... turns to snow in my clutch...I'm too much!
Big finish....let'r rip...

I never want to know a day that's over forty degrees! I'd rather have it thirty, twenty, ten, five, and let it freeze!
That's right...Al Gore is in Washington today...and the Gore Effect is full throttle.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Vice President Al Gore urged lawmakers Wednesday not to let the economic crisis get in the way of addressing global warming.

Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Nobel Peace Prize winner said Congress should pass President Barack Obama's economic stimulus package as a first step to bringing greenhouse gases under control.

But Gore also pressed for "decisive action" on a bill to cap heat-trapping gases, saying that it is needed for the U.S. to take a leading role in negotiations on a new international climate treaty later this year.
Stop messing with our kids' education, Al.

I'm Sorry...

TEHRAN: A day after President Barack Obama struck a conciliatory tone toward Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged Washington on Wednesday to apologize for its actions toward his country for the past 60 years and said it was unclear whether the new U.S. administration was merely shifting tactics or wanted real change.
I'm sorry:

-- that Iran's flag has "ALLAH AKBAR" (God is Great) in white Arabic script repeated 11 times along the bottom edge of the green band and 11 times along the top edge of the red band representative of a rights crushing...Theocracy.

-- that 66 Million people have to live under a government of cretinous, tyranical daftness.

-- that subjects of Iran are stoned, beaten, imprisoned and mistreated just because of their gender, sexual orientation, religion or simple views.

-- that Iranian women are trafficked internally for the purpose of forced prostitution and for forced marriages to settle debts; Iranian children are trafficked internally and Afghan children are trafficked into Iran for the purpose of forced marriages, commercial sexual exploitation, and involuntary servitude as beggars or laborers.

-- that Iran signed onto the Kyoto Protocol nonsense.

-- that Iran remains one of the primary transshipment routes for Southwest Asian heroin to Europe; suffers one of the highest opiate addiction rates in the world, and has an increasing problem with synthetic drugs.

-- that Ahmadinejad (aka: Imanutjob) really thinks that Israel is going to allow a nation of terrorist supporting enablers to possess weapons of mass destruction regardless of the position of the United States.

-- that women in Iran can be beaten to a pulp for showing too much skin.

Ahmadinejad also questioned the United States deployment of forces in many places around the world, apparently demanding that the forces be withdrawn. "Who has asked them to come and interfere in the affairs of nations?" he asked, according to Reuters.
Anyone recall that scene from "When Mars Attacks?" Rod Steiger's character (General Decker) is deep in the bunker with the president, and in walks the emmisary of the Martians. He promptly shoots Decker with a ray that shrinks him to the size of an animated peanut. General Decker is jumping up and down screaming the entire time as his voice gets progressively more puny and high pitched. He remained defiant right up until the moment that a shoe tread squished him like a bug.

Pakistan is the key...

With the increasing consolidation of their power, the Taliban have taken a sizable bite out of the nation. And they are enforcing a strict interpretation of Islam with cruelty, bringing public beheadings, assassinations, social and cultural repression and persecution of women to what was once an independent, relatively secular region, dotted with ski resorts and fruit orchards and known for its dancing girls.

Last year, 70 police officers were beheaded, shot or otherwise slain in Swat, and 150 were wounded, said Malik Naveed Khan, the police inspector general for North-West Frontier Province.

The police have become so afraid that many officers have put advertisements in newspapers renouncing their jobs so the Taliban will not kill them.
This is in the Swat Valley of Pakistan. Afghanistan has become more inhospitable to the Taliban (more so than the lands overseen by the divided and inept government of current Pakistan).

The point is that President Obama's plan to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan won't change the fact that operations for the Taliban are primarily in Pakistan. There needs to be an effort to secure a common line of thinking in Pakistan...with action to follow the position.

"The crux of the problem is the government appears divided about what to do," said Mahmood Shah, a retired Pakistani Army brigadier who until 2006 was in charge of security in the western tribal areas.

"This disconnect among the political leadership has emboldened the militants."

From 2,000 to 4,000 Taliban fighters now roam the Swat Valley, according to interviews with a half-dozen senior Pakistani government, military and political officials involved in the fight. By contrast, the Pakistani military has four brigades with 12,000 to 15,000 men in Swat, officials say.

But the soldiers largely stay inside their camps, unwilling to patrol or exert any large presence that might provoke - or discourage - the militants, Swat residents and political leaders say. The military also has not raided a small village that locals say is widely known as the Taliban's headquarters in Swat.
The problem seems to be that the military doesn't believe in the cause, and is not willing to stick their heads up out their bases. I tend to believe it goes deeper, and there is an absolute refusal to see the Taliban as the enemy to some exent. The result is an occasional US spy drone firing missiles along the Pakistani border as Pakistani officials and military leaders rush to the scene to count "civilians." In the blink of an eye, stringers for the anti-American press are only too willing to carry the water.

More troops won't make much difference unless Pakistan starts towing the line and marginalizing the dissidents in their own ranks.

Smart money is on Chicago...

GENEVA – Former detainees, human rights advocates and government officials around the world welcomed President Barack Obama's decision to close the Guantanamo Bay detention centre, saying Thursday it helped restore their faith in the United States.

The United Nations' torture investigator, Manfred Nowak, said news that Obama will order the prison closed, review military trials of terror suspects and end harsh interrogations was a sign of goodwill by the new American administration.
Former detainees, human rights advocates and government officials around the world hardly represent, in my opinion, a substantive collection of intellectual prowess. I suppose, rather than harboring any ill will on the President I’ll start a pool here at the office.

I’m guessing that Chicago’s days are numbered. If I had to make a choice of the lesser of all evils, I’d take Los Angeles in the pool. But, smart money is on Mr. President’s home state.

Do I think any of these incarcerated "victims" will end up wreaking vengeance, and be personally responsible for a dastardly terrorist attack here on American soil or abroad? That's not the point. It's possible...but I'm more concerned about the idiotic and shortsighted message this sends to those Jihadist troglodytes out there. They have just been told that there is one less deterrent to their ultimate agenda (DOMINATION). It is no wonder that the "leaders" and "officials" throughout the world applaud this nonsense. They have already caved and capitulated to "soft Jihad" disguised as "human rights" and "multi-cuturalism." Now the dark forces out there know we will follow suit. Were I a terrorist today, I would be celebrating...as the drawbridge has been fully lowered over a once impressive mote.

But he warned that shutting the prison will require difficult decisions and said freed inmates should be allowed to sue the United States if they were mistreated.
Nice...our new President is actually encouraging civil suits that would, no doubt, be honored by the Federal Judges appointed by the bygone Clinton and Carter administrations. Once a plaintiff attorney...always a plaintiff attorney. I suppose this is his idea of a tax refund. As we've learned from the Presidents economic stimulus proposal...you don't really have to pay taxes to receive something back.

Being a cold-hearted bastard...I will shed no tears when massive terrorist events occur abroad. In my mind, I will wonder if the event could have been avoided had information been acquired at the, once, successful interrogation facility that was known as GITMO. I will be a bit more invested when the same wave of bloody turmoil occurs on our own soil, but my concern and compassion will only be for those who oppose this "stroke of a pen...new law...kind of cool" idiocy. Those of you who perish, and strongly object to Fraternity Hijinks labeled as torture...I will shed no tears.

Take a look at the photo above. Do you see what everyone is doing with their hands. They're searching for their marbles and coming up woefully inadequate. The naïveté is astounding.

While Nero Diddled...

Were “Barack: The Movie” made today, cool dude Denzel, after dropping 50 pounds, would play him - one lean, mean, cool dude machine.

Change you can bereave in...

"I WANT A CHANGE!!!"

"I NEED SOME CHANGE!!!"

Who feels reckless?

Let's make a bet:

I bet that St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch gets the nod for US Attorney by the incoming "Change" administration to replace eastern district U.S. attorney, Catherine Hanaway.

It's normal, of course, to refill the position when a new administration comes into Washington. I'm just going to bet that McCulloch gets the nod due to his "Obama Truth Squad" experience on behalf of that same administration.

Any takers?

Someone needs a change....

On Friday, he picked two other Chicago friends to join them in the White House. Christina Tchen will be director of the Office of Public Liaison and Michael Strautmanis will serve as chief of staff for both of the offices Jarrett will oversee.

The rest of the appointment matrix is a complicated calculus of resumes, connections and politics. But for the office he means to serve as his official entryway, Obama and his team simply decided to lay out a familiar, Chicago-style welcome mat.

"They all share a true sense of the significant change that an Obama administration will bring," Jarrett said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. "I was looking for people who have a track record of being inclusive, being transparent and engaging people who often feel left out."
Christina Tchen is a campaign bundler. She bundled just over $200,000 for the Democrats...and she consistently over donated requiring a multitude of reimbursements (that will never be confirmed). Get the picture? CHANGE BABY...CHANGE!!!

And, of course, this is change in that no one has ever been SO blantant and arrogant enough to serve us such a racid plate of sh*t and call it meatballs in the past.

Both of these new additions will be overseen by Valerie Jarrett. She's another campaign bundler who slapped together well over $100,000 for the election(s).

Bridge for sale...it's a beaut...

Safer? OK...how many significant terrorist attacks have we had in the United States since 9/11?

Zero?

Correct...therefore...we can expect negative one (-1) or less attacks over the next four years...And there was much rejoicing among the villagers and peasants.

Incidentally...this comes from the free morning daily that all commuters grab on their way down into the rat infested Manhattan subway. The circulation is higher than any other print medium. Today they read a headline that was an absolute distortion.

As an aside, I suppose you could look at the Beltway Sniper attacks a la Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen Muhammad as terroristic in nature; and originally it was thought that the motive of the shootings lay in the Jihadist mentality. However, I have two issues with that:

1. The general thinking on that these days is that Muhammad had planned on murdering his estranged wife, Mildred. The shootings were to create smokescreen that would hide that scenario.

2. The snipers were successful in that the Police Chief in charge of the investigation, and his politically correct lackeys refused to look at the possibility that a fellow black individual was doing the deed despite the evidence accumulated. This, of course, tailors nicely with the strategy of accusing anyone who looked at Obama crookedly...a racist.

Yeah...I feel safer.

Oh mein Gott !!

Heh...(snort)

The international appendage of the New York Times (International Herald Tribune) dug out an old photo of Hillary to announce the potential for a Secretary of State in a pantsuit. I think it's fair to say that the editor on the "Americas" fold of the IHT isn't a fan. Keep in mind that the IHT (while regurgitated in France) is sold across the European Union...including Germany.

I think Garrison Keillor might be gay (as well as obtuse)

KEILLOR: "Be happy, dear hearts, and allow yourselves a few more weeks of quiet exultation.

It isn't gloating, it's satisfaction at a job well done. He was a superb candidate, serious, professorial but with a flashing grin and a buoyancy that comes from working out in the gym every morning.

He spoke in a genuine voice, not senatorial at all. He relished campaigning. He accepted adulation gracefully. He brandished his sword against his opponents without mocking or belittling them. He was elegant, unaffected, utterly American, and now (Wow) suddenly America is cool. Chicago is cool."
YES!!! I BEEN SAYING THIS ALL ALONG!!!! Obama looks great…has fantastic mannerisms and a great smile. He didn’t flinch when the great unwashed kissed his ring, and only gave the finger twice on camera to his opponents (without being mocking or belittling…that ain’t easy). He’s just what we need as the leader of the whole free freakin’ world…someone who looks good doing it. Damn…Captain Wobegon is in a zone!!!!

KEILLOR: "The French junior minister for human rights said, "On this morning, we all want to be American so we can take a bite of this dream unfolding before our eyes." When was the last time you heard someone from France say they wanted to be American and take a bite of something of ours? Ponder that for a moment.

The world expects us to elect pompous yahoos and instead we have us a 47-year-old prince from the prairie who cheerfully ran the race, and when his opponents threw sand at him, he just smiled back."
THE FRENCH LIKE US…THE FRENCH LIKE US!!! Oh…crap...

And...for the record...one of the statements that the French junior minister for human rights made was, "This is the fall of the Berlin Wall times ten."

Spoken like a true luminary who understands the gravity of historical events. Shall we delve into the icky insinuations of a junior grade rights "progressor" who happens to be a Muslim in a country where car burning by Muslim youths is more popular than sliced bread? Nah...let's just consider that she's French...and therefore we seek her approval.

KEILLOR: "He'll be the first president in history to look really good making a jump shot. He loves his classy wife and his sweet little daughters. He looks good in the kitchen. He can cook Indian or Chinese but for his girls he will do mac and cheese. At the same time, he knows pop music, American lit and constitutional law.

I just can't imagine anybody cooler. Look at a photo of the latest pooh-bah conference - the hausfrau Merkel, the big glum Scotsman, that goofball Berlusconi, Putin with his B-movie bad-boy scowl, and Sarkozy, who looks like a district manager for Avis - you put Barack in that bunch and he will shine."

YES!!!!! He looks good…I mean…he looks good.

Hey…anyone remember that slab of meat that used to grace the covers of all those romance novels that polluted the line at the grocery check-out register?….Fabio was/is his name. About the most substantive thing Fabio ever accomplished was ridding Busch Gardens Williamsburg of a careless goose.

Shine, Obama, shine. Stand next to Putin…you’re taller. Do a profile photo-op with Merkel…you’re thinner. And Sarkozy…do the close-up discussion with serious expression shot with him. HIS NOSE IS HUGE!!!

KEILLOR: "Our hero who galloped to victory has inherited a gigantic mess. The country is sunk in debt. The Treasury announced it must borrow $550 billion to get the government through the fourth quarter, more than the entire deficit for 2008, so he will have to raise taxes and not only on bankers and lumber barons.

His promise never to raise the retirement age is not a good idea. Whatever he promised the Iowa farmers about subsidizing ethanol is best forgotten at this point. We may not be getting our National Health Service cards anytime soon. And so on and so on."
Huh? You mean…wait…what? BUT HE LOOKS SO FREAKIN’ GOOD!!!!

"America’s progressive paradox" -- Janet Albrechtsen

Janet Albrechtsen nails it DEAD FREAKIN' ON.

Voters were seduced by the Obama advertising, not the underlying product details of left-liberalism. Obama did not campaign on his left-wing voting record in Congress. On the contrary, he tacked sharply to the centre as the Democrat Presidential nominee. And it worked. What that means for an Obama Administration – and indeed for a Democrat controlled Congress – is that America remains an inherently right of centre nation.

And that means that the next four years will be a fascinating ride as Obama tries to satisfy his liberal Democrat colleagues in Congress and the more conservative voters who delivered him the keys to the White House.

I would only re-emphasize something that I spewed earlier on this blog. American voters (in general) are intellectually lazy. Both political parties take full advantage of that. One political party and candidate for president this year incorporated this ignorance into his campaign rather cleverly. The media was complicit in assuring (as Janet Albrechtsen points out) a winning advertising campaign, and continued ignorance to what was actually being sold.

The only way Obama remains popular enough with the American people to have a second term is if the media continues to push the agenda while hiding the failures, and the true meaning of the acts. That's going to be difficult as they trail off into obscurity based on a complete lack of public trust and obliteration of their circulation numbers. If that worm fully turns, the Obama sales scheme will whither on the vine...and this will be a four year term with no tail. It will, also, result in a brand new landscape for Congress provided someone in the Republican party has half a brain and a pair of marbles.

Quote of the day from the Blogger of the day.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"I already have two articles that I wrote in prison, and I'm waiting to post them." ---Raja Petra Kamarudin

The above comes from a Malaysian blogger who was thrown into prison based on that county's "Internal Security Act."

Raja Petra, 58, has been critical of Najib Razak, the deputy prime minister who is set to rise to the post of prime minister early next year. Among other accusations, Raja Petra issued a sworn statement that Najib's wife was present at the killing of a Mongolian woman who was the mistress of one of Najib's aides.

Here's my question? How different is:

THIS "Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading television ad during the presidential campaign."

FROM

THIS "In explaining his detention, the government contended that Raja Petra made comments that insulted Muslims and the Prophet Muhammad. He was also accused of posting articles that were defamatory toward leaders and incited hatred against the government."

Petra's blog is located at (http://mt.m2day.org)...but as of yesterday, his wife had hidden his laptop. Although, per the IHT article, he vows to be up and posting again within 24 hours.

Got any ID?

A man wears a portrait of U.S. President-elect Senator Barack Obama during celebrations of his historic White House victory in Nairobi's Kibera slum Wednesday.
