Biden's state...

Hey...check out the Delaware Department of Transportation's helpful tips!!!

Workplace Faux Pas:

I assure you that this a legimate memo issued by a DelDOT executive. You'll get a few laughs at the absolute stupidity of it as they suggest...what not to say.

For example:

--- you shouldn't inquire whether a black co-worker would like you to order watermelon or fried chicken for him/her.

--- you shouldn't call handicapped co-workers "retards." Actually, they go a bit far and say you can't refer to anyone as "handicapped" either.

You get the drift. It is a memo written by some simpleton who thinks the workforce is made up of two year olds. But, I do have a gripe about one of the suggestions on what not to say. Here it is exactly:

Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender Co-workers

Employees who make the decision to "come out" are usually apprehensive about the kinds of reaction they will receive from colleagues.

Comment: "I didn't need to hear that."

Suggestion: If you are not interested in a person's personal life, simply say, "Thank You."
Huh?

How about I say...

"Listen, pal...I don't really think it is appropriate to inform me of your sexual proclivities when all we are supposed to be doing is road maintenance. In other words, you and I were hired to lay guard rail...that's all. And, further more...had I asked you what your sexual habits are, you would have every right to inform me of what our job duties happen to be and that my question was out of line."

These jackass Politically Correct morons are out of control.

Sen. Weather Vane (Christine M. Flowers on Specter)

So we shouldn't pull out the hairshirts and flails to bemoan the loss of a man who was never a conservative to begin with, and who obviously cared more about his personal survival than preserving two-party checks and balances that he spoke so "passionately" about just days before he jumped ship.

It's time to stop catering to liberals-in-moderate clothing. Most of those who defected from the GOP during the last election might say they did so because they were horrified by fiscal excesses of the Bush administration and the mess in Iraq.

But I think the real reason they high-tailed it out of Dodge was because they didn't like having to make some uncomfortable choices on the so-called "social" issues, and used economics as a smokescreen.

It's a lot harder to be a conservative than it is to be a liberal. Liberals want everyone to be happy. (Except for Sarah Palin. Her, they want to waterboard.)

Moderates, I think, don't care if everyone is happy, and secretly think that some of that happiness is undeserved, but they're afraid to actually come out and say it.

Conservatives think happiness should be earned.

Sen. Specter, you didn't deserve us. Bon voyage.
That last sentence sums up my thoughts as well. I rather we throw out the dead wood and allow the cream to rise to the top of the Conservative movement. I thought Ms. Flowers nailed Specter (Sen. Weather Vane) rather nicely, as well as the other wandering moderates. Conservative thinking is not, nor should it ever be, about compromise.

Good help is hard to find...

Mr. Maqdisi’s problem is more homegrown. A new generation of jihadists, many of them less educated and respectful of authority than their elders, has begun taking issue with him. Mr. Maqdisi believes suicide bombing is a legitimate tactic but has said it should not be used indiscriminately, and he has spoken against the sectarian massacres in Iraq. For this he is accused of turning his back on jihad.

In a sense, Mr. Maqdisi can hardly complain, because he did the same thing to his clerical elders when he was young.

“For several decades, there has been a dynamic at work in the radical Sunni Islamist community where each new generation becomes less principled, less learned, more radical, and more violent than the one before it,” said Bernard Haykel, a professor of Middle East studies at Princeton.
My heart goes out to Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi...attached to a cruise missile. This is your typical leader in Palestine.

Like clockwork...

It would be more than a week before Mrs. Gutiérrez went to Oaxaca’s General Hospital, where she arrived listless and barely able to breathe, her extremities blue from a lack of oxygen.

That delay in getting expert help may explain why Mrs. Gutiérrez, 39, a mother of daughters ages 10, 17 and 20, became Mexico’s first death from a new, virulent strain of influenza A(H1N1). It may also suggest why this country’s death toll from the virus is higher than any other’s.

Epidemiologists are still puzzled by the virus, its origins and its modes of transmission. But they agree that prompt medical attention is crucial to treating it.
Expect a follow-up piece by the New York Times' MARC LACEY and ELISABETH MALKIN sometime in the next week. The yet to be published piece will stress the necessity of early treatment to confound the "Swine Flu." Then, the piece will dive into the necessity of amnesty for illegal aliens so that they don't delay their treatment due to fears that ICE officials will throw them back to their country of origin.

What is the NY Times waiting for? Well, in order to play on our emotions, and make their case, they need a heap load of illegal aliens to expire in the United States due to late diagnosis or delayed professional treatment.

Anyone want to take the bet?

Put the bloody morons on E-Bay...

Mr. Holder said that of the 241 inmates still held in Guantánamo Bay, 30 could now be released. In the coming weeks, he said, specific countries in Europe would be asked to take specific detainees. The U.S. authorities will share “sufficient information” with any receiving countries “about why the inmates had been held in Guantánamo and how they conducted themselves during that time.”
During WW II, German POW's used to work the apple orchards in Pennsylvania (among other places). Of course, they weren't considered victims back then. They were enemy combatants.

I find it amusing that our Attorney General is in Europe literally begging for the EU to take over the care, custody and control of these Jihadist cretins while piling on a heaping helping of "righting a wrong." It shows the country in a weakening state while portraying our current Administration as the "white knight of justice." Of course, to be able to accept the former and the latter, you would have to be a mouth breathing idiot...and we have plenty of those.

This has been a message from the NYC Office of Tourism and Gambling...

Hey, everyone...come to New York City and ride the subways. It's GREAT!!!!

Please go with him...I'm begging you

The alleged percipience of Olympia Snowe:
It is true that being a Republican moderate sometimes feels like being a cast member of “Survivor” — you are presented with multiple challenges, and you often get the distinct feeling that you’re no longer welcome in the tribe. But it is truly a dangerous signal that a Republican senator of nearly three decades no longer felt able to remain in the party.

Senator Specter indicated that his decision was based on the political situation in Pennsylvania, where he faced a tough primary battle. In my view, the political environment that has made it inhospitable for a moderate Republican in Pennsylvania is a microcosm of a deeper, more pervasive problem that places our party in jeopardy nationwide.

I have said that, without question, we cannot prevail as a party without conservatives. But it is equally certain we cannot prevail in the future without moderates.
Please oh please go with him, Senator Snowe. Moderates are merely indecisive pantywastes who have little conviction or consistency. They stand not for principle, but revel in appeasement, fairytale "getting along", and act only on which way the wind is blowing. They will jump parties to secure their job (refusing to see how much THEY have strayed from those they claimed to represent).

They will stick up for the opportunists not on principle, but based on the fear that the negativity surrounding a similar waivering colleague will resonate with their own constituency.

GO...GO NOW! Join Arlen "single bullet" Specter in the arms of the Democrats. It is a good fit, whether you are willing to admit it or not. You're waiting to see how the overnights reflect on Specter's move...because we know you are not capable of deciding on your own.

Grand Central goes dimmer...

On Tuesday, those wiremen — their official title — unscrewed the last remaining incandescent bulbs in the building, replacing them with compact fluorescent bulbs and completing the greening of the lighting system at the bustling station.

While the wiremen worked, photographers snapped pictures, and officials applauded the efforts, reminiscing about the days when both station and light bulb were young.

The bulbs were on one of the 10 huge Beaux-Arts chandeliers in the main lobby. Adorned with gold detail and banded with 110 bulbs, the 96-year-old globe-shaped chandeliers hang above the main concourse balconies like luminescent Fabergé eggs.

Fluorescent bulbs last longer and use less energy, saving money and helping advance the city’s environmental goals.
They also contain mercury and are a health hazard. Additionally, they provide a lesser quality of light. But, I only posted this story so that I can use my favorite Kennedy family joke. Ready?

Question: How many Kennedys does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer: Two. One to hold the bulb, and one to drink enough to make the room spin.

Just a suggestion...

BETHLEHEM, West Bank — Muslim calligrapher Yasser Abu Saymeh has dedicated the past two months to Christian art, writing the Gospel of Luke in ornate Arabic script to be presented to Pope Benedict XVI when the Roman Catholic leader visits the Holy Land next month.
As the Gospel of Luke deals significantly with social ethics, the poor, women, and other oppressed groups, I would suggest a proof reader.

Zodiac Killer press release...

Zodiac Killer to Be Revealed at Press Conference

FAMILY MEMBER Of KILLER WILL DELIVER STATEMENT Of EVIDENCE

Supporting Forensic Experts, Law Enforcement/Government Personalities, and Legal Representatives organized by members of the original Law Offices of Melvin Belli will be in Attendance

SAN FRANCISCO, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 40 years have passed since the first ZODIAC murder. He may have killed 36 people. There has never been conclusive evidence implicating a single individual and no one has ever come forward to identify the real killer. This has remained one of the world's greatest unsolved crime sprees...until now. For the first time in four decades, there is new, never before seen or heard evidence of the identity of the Zodiac Killer. Through the efforts of many world renowned forensic experts under the direction of original partners of famed Zodiac Killer confidant/attorney Melvin Belli, a press conference will be held this Wednesday at the San Francisco Chronicle. At the press conference, a proven immediate family member of the Zodiac Killer will make a statement identifying the killer. Attending with her will be leading forensic experts, a Melvin Belli former partner, family lawyers and others who have helped solve this case that has been open for many years. Information of the forensic evidence - including cryptology, handwriting analysis, current law enforcement investigations, and most startling, the murder accomplice evidence - will be distributed. This historical revelation upsets the theories of the murder investigations in the past. Many cold case crimes have recently been solved because of 21st century forensic technology. This is one of the bigger breakthroughs.

Recently, there has been misinformation distributed to some media outlets from a source in Sacramento which fast tracked this press conference. Over two years have been spent in forensic investigations by the nation's best so there could be no question unanswered about the evidence to be distributed this Wednesday.

Then study up on transformative Fair Use (you can comment publicly below the post). But, most importantly, explain to me how my posting of this press release (in its entirety) damages PR Newswire financially. Actually, it expands their reach and enhances their services (arguably by the few readers who frequent this blog). Additionally, the litmus test on Fair Use also requires that the repost is not a commercial venture. See any advertisements on this blog? No? I have never asked for donations from readers, nor will I...ever.

UPDATE II: Wow...I didn't see that coming:

A California woman has come forward to claim that her late father was the elusive Zodiac Killer and that she accompanied him on many of his shooting sprees in the late 1960s when she was only 7-years-old, KTVU.com reported.

Kevin Mclean, a California-based attorney, has led a 2-year long investigation into claims made by Deborah Perez that her father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, was the Zodiac Killer and urged her to come forward when he heard that another investigator was planning on presenting another theory to police.
It's one thing to say that you suspect a relative did it, but to admit to being along for the ride as a seven year old girl is...well...unexpected. I wonder how this will pan out.
