Gift that keeps on giving...


NEW YORK — Should people be paid to behave responsibly? Some cities think so.

New York wants poor people to save money, so it is offering a big incentive to encourage them to do so: a 50% match of up to $250 if they put money from their federal earned-income tax credit into a savings account and keep it there for a year.
This is beautiful....Everyone FEEL better now?

So, in summary...first we give a tax credit of about $2,000 to folks that pay little or NO income tax. Then, we encourage those folks to take the money out of circulation (much to the chagrine of New York commerce) and, the legit tax payer (you know...the guy who pays his taxes and doesn't get a credit...i.e. Free Money) gets double tapped to pay for the NYC's generous little gift to folks who already got a gift.
