What the Shiva...

Melanie Phillips has an excellent dissection of the faux propaganda associated with "civilian" deaths in Gaza. She addresses the hyperbole, pseudo-ad hoc bystanders and the like. However, I might take issue with the following statement presented as accepted fact.
But the BBC did not tell its viewers the important fact that every single journalist and media utterance coming out of Gaza is controlled by Hamas.
The reason I might take issue is based on a story put out by the International Herald Tribune (New York Times red-headed step-sister in Europe) yesterday.

I have trouble believing that Hamas would have approved of this quote:

Her uncle lost both legs. Another woman found only half of the body of her 17-year-old daughter in the Shifa morgue. "May God exterminate Hamas!" she screamed, in a curse rarely heard these days. In this conflict, many Palestinians praise Hamas as resisters, but Israel contends the group has purposely endangered civilians by fighting in and around populated areas.
The story from Taghreed El-Khodary of the IHT is pure unadulturated propoganda in its own right...for the most part. But, would Hamas let that quote slip by? Probably not.

Regardless...Ms. Phillips always seems to nail it...as she does here regardless of my little divergence.
